UNREASONABLE TAXATION.
gi r —Permit me to draw attention to the fact that a company paying income tax at "the rate of 6s in the pound, do-, sirous of placing a £5 5s wreath at the foot of the Cenotaph in memory of those employees who were at one time members of its staff, and in the interests of distressed returned soldiers, is taxed by the Government £1 lis 6d for the honour. Surely donations given to this and other worthy charitable objects should bo exempted from income tax. Accountant.
