DANUBIAN STATES.
FAILURE OF CONFERENCE. LONDON. April 12. During the whole history of diplomacy a French defeat has never been so freely admitted as in the case of the Danubian negotiations in London. he Matin comments bitterly, adding, " France went to London armed with a lolly practical scheme, and with money in her pockets, but lost a cause which was not even her own." Le Temps blames Germany, declaring that she seeks her own advantage, instead of European prosperity, and hopes to break the " Little Entente " by drawing Rumania, and perhaps Yugoslavia, within her orbit. Most of tho newspapers assume that Britain completely agreed with the French proposals, and declare that the only happy result of the conference was the restoration of Franco-British harmony.
