TRADE CLASS IN THE SCHOOLS.
Sir,—Please allow me space to put the following matter before the notice of incoming school committees of the Auckland district: —That a trade class be formed at all primary schools, composed of girls and boys who have passed the proficiency tesi. This trade class to be under school discipline, instructors to be selected by the Education Department rrom the unemployed. The main reasons why a trade class should be formed at each school are:—lt would be a means of keeping the girls and boys from being idle, and would make them useful members of the community later on. There are practical instructors unemployed who are experts at different trades. There are many parents who cannot afford to send their to higher grade schools. It would be better for thegirls and boy s to be instructed durin« the day instead of at night classes. Thl. above motion, I hope, will be discussed by every school committee in the Auckland district and brought to the notion of the Minister of Education for his approval to form a trade class at each school from the Bluff to the North Cape; Chas. H. Paull. ,
