Following is a list of yesterday's transactions on New Zealand Stock Exchanges.In the second column is given the return, based on the last annual dividend, from investment at the quoted price. In the case of Government' and other redeemable securities no return is given, in view of tho new method of quotation, but the months in which interest is duo are shown. Jn calculating the returns on shares in companies which pay their dividends oulsido New Zealand exchange rates, being liable to fluctuation, have not been taken in consideration. SYDNEY QUOTATIONS DOWN. (Received April '2O, 0.5.") p.m.) SYDNKY, April 20. On the Sydney Stock Kxcliangc to-day llirro was all-round weakness which was especially noticeable in (short-dated bonds. Sales were recorded of Commonwealths 4 per cent, bonds as follows:—1938, £95 6s 3d: 1941, £O4 2s 6d; 1944, £9l 12s 6d; 1950. £9O 17s 6d; 1955, £9l j 1957, £9l ss; 1961, £9O 12s 6d. AUSTRALIAN STOCKS. DEPRESSION IN LONDON. LONDON, April 19. On the London Slock Exchange to-day Australian Government stocks were further depressed. ■ Dealings in Commonwealth 5 per cents., 1945-75, ranged from £BO to £B6, compared with £B6 10s yesterday, and 6 per cents., 1931-41, from £B6 to £96, compared with £95 12s 6d. Victorian 5 per cents., 1932-42, were dealt in from £7O to £BO, compared with £B2 5s on April 14; New South Wales 4 per cents., 1933, at, £75 to £77, compared with £B2 10s; per cents., 193050, at'£so'ss, compared with £59 10s; per cents., 1922-32, at £BB 10s to £9l 10s, compared with £93 17s 6d; 6i per cents., 1930-40. at £75, compared with £B6 7s 6d, and 6 per cents., 193040, at £7O, compared with £B2 on April 14. GOLD AND SILVER. QUOTATIONS IN LONDON. LONDON, April 19. Gold is quoted to-day at £5 9s 3d an 07... compared with £5 9s 9d yesterday. Silver is quoted at 16 9-16 d an oz. spot, compared with 16 7-16 d yesterday. The forward quotation yesterday was 153 d. The quotation for silver at per standard 07. is 16 9-16 d, and at per fine oz. 17 7-Bd, compared with 162 d and 18d yesterday. FOREIGN EXCHANGES. LITTLE CHANGE IN STERLING. British 'Wireless.
