DEBATING SOCIETY.
The Mangere Literary, Social and Debating Society held its annual general meeting fin Monday evening, the president. Mr. Mullen, presided. The balance-sheet, was read by the secretary, Mr. P. Monteath, and was adopted without discission. The president. Mr. Bnllrn. remarked upon (lie n1111 s11 a! talent which the club had already shown considering it. was still iii its infantcy. Reference also was made 'to Mr. and Mrs. Clarkson, two valuable members, who ynfortunately are Ica\ing the. district. A hearty vole of thanks was extended tn the secretary who .had done so much for rim club and who was responsible for it* present existence. The following were the officers elected Patron, Mr. W. W . Masspr. M.l'.: lion, vice-presidents. Mr. T>. Kay. Mr. J. ('lark. Mr. S. Slouse; president, Mr. Bnllen : vice president : Mr. J. Paine; secretary, Mr. P. Monlerilh; committee, Miss McMillan. Miss I.
