FAIR TO FINE. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:— The intense high barometric pressure system over New Zealand still maintains its energy, but pressure remains relatively low northward. Expect a continuance of fair to fine weather generally, with warm day temperatures and cold nights. Some frosts likely inland. Variable and moderate breezes, southerly prevailing. Seas smooth to moderate. Local outlook: Fair to fine. Barometer, midnight, steady .. 30.35|n. Midnight, Saturday . . . . 30.05 in. Temperature in shade yesterday (to midnight)— Maximum, 63dcg.; Minimum, 53Ueg. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—Though an anticyclone still covers New Zealand pressure is falling slowly. A fairly deep depression is centred near Tasmania. Indications are for light to moderate and variable winds, but tending northerly and later freshening. Seas smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Freshening northerly winds; seas becoming rough. Weather fine for the present and warmer, but unsettled conditions developing cat-K----in the week. RAINFALL RECORD.
