EARACHE.
Earache is usually "f two kinds. There is the shooting pain, which passes off. only to return in a minute or two, and the severe and persistent ache often accompanied by fever. Ihe first type is a kind of neuralgia. 1 lie patient should keep indoors and avoid draughts. Warm glycerine or olive oil should be poured gently into the ear Rnd the passage-way plugged with cotton wool. Hot flannel applied over the car is often beneficial. Middle ear disease, as the second type is called, should not be treated by home remedies, and the oar must not be syringed except under a doctor's instructions.
