DECORATIVE DAYS.

BRIGHT BATHROOMS. Nothing " dates " the decoration of a house more than an unattractive bathroom. Here are a few simple suggestions which will convert a dull, old-fashioned bathroom into an attractive modern one. This can be done with very little expense. To-day we do not display any unnecessary bottles, shaving utensils, or toothpaste, but hide them neatly in the mirrorfronted medicine chest. There should be nothing visible on the brightly shining glass shelf except decorative accessories say a pretty glass bottle filled with a pleasant mouthwash. Soiled towels should never bo left in view. A coloured wicker basket for the soiled linen, which can be used as a chair as well, is a most practical piece of bathroom furniture. Gay Guest-towels. Such small niceties as fresh guest-towels must never be neglected. These can be made out of any absorbent linen, and they can lie made to look dainty by embroidering them with any simple design in colours. Very cheerful guest-towels can lie made out of coloured linen, embroidered in contrasting shades. An exquisite touch can be given to the bathroom by putting up curtains of rubberised chintz, the dominating shade matching the towels, bath-mat, and coloured rubber sponges. A small nail-brush, which might also be of this colour, is indispensable. It is a good plan to have several inexpensive nail-brushes; in this way they can be ieplaccd oftener. A jar of bath-salts, new soap and coloured tumblers show the most careful attention to the luxurious details of the bathroom. Needless to say, all enamel, metal, tiles, mirrors, and windows must be kept bright and sparkling.
