OBITUARY.

MR. T. A. HINES. [FROM OUR/ OWN correspondent.] TE AROHA, Friday. A well-known Mangaiti farmer, Mr. Thomas Alfred Hines, died suddenly early this morning at his home. Mr. Hines, who was 45 years of age, was an expert horseman and a prominent polo plaver. Hp represented the Waihou Polo Club-for mariv years in tournaments and challenge matches. His style on the -field was always, brilliant-and dashing. He was also a member of the Thames Valley Agricultural, Pastoral and Horticultural Association, in -which he took a keen interest. Mr. Hines had long been associated witk the Te Aroha Anglican Church and was a member of the vestry for a number of years. He was an ardent worker when the campaign for raising funds for the erection of the new St. Mark's- Church was in progress. He leaves a widow, one sou and one daughter.

MR. J. H-. LANGE. - • [kro_u OUIt OWN con RESPONDENT. J THAMES. Friday. Hie death occurred this morning of Mr. J. H. Lange, tailor, of Thames. Born at Thames 59 years ago, Mr. Lange was a well-known citizen. He served several terms on the Thames Hospital Board and was superintendent of the Methodist Sunday School for a long time. He is survived by his wife and two s|ns, Dr. Roy Lange, of Otahuhu,. and Dr. Harold Lange, of Samoa. There are three brothers, Messrs. H. B. Lange and G. F. Lange, of . Sydney, and Mr. W. G. Lance, of Auckland, and one sister, Mrs. J. W.' Danby, of Thames. DR. 11, NAIRN. [BY TELEGRAM. —-.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] HASTINGS. Friday. The death lias occurred of Dr. Robert Nairn, aged 70 years, who has been a resident of Hastings since 1894. Dr. Nairn served for two years on a hospital ship between Gallipoli and London during the war.
