' Miss Mimi Gordon, of Wellington, is visiting Auckland, where she. is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. 1. I l '. Craig, Courtville I'lats, Waterloo Quadrant. Miss Ranui Froeborn. of Mount Albert, has returned from Dargaville where she judged the Highland dancing at Donnelly's Crossing on Easter Saturday. Mr. T. M. Chapman and Mrs. W. J. iWebb. of Appletreewick. Garden Road, Fendalton, and iMiss Yonge. of Auckland, have returned to Christclnirch after a fortright's motor tour to Mount Cook and the Southern lakes. Mr. Kenneth Almao, chief r.f staff to the. District Commissioner at Nadurulaulau, Fiji, is on eight months' furlough in ■New Zealand and is accompanied by Mrs. Almao. They are visiting his, parents a* Tennyson Street, Mount Eden. After joining in the celebrations of the latters' thirtieth wedding anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Almao will leave for an extended motor tour of the North Island, on the conclusion of which it is their intention to make a brief visit to Australia. Quite an exodus of well-known Auckland residents is taking place very shortly nnd yesterday afternoon a party to farewell some of their number was given by Mrs. E. H. B. Milsom in the Reception Hall of Milne and Clioyce, Ltd. A very charming scheme of decoration with flowers in rich autumn, colouring had been carried out, the parchment-coloured walls making a harmonious background. The guests of honour were:— Mrs. W. Coleman, Mrs. C. Lawford, Mrs. H. E. Vaile, Mrs. Vivian Thew, Miss Ruby Coleman and Miss Meri Vaile, who are all leaving early 111 April bv the Tamaroa for England. Mrs. Milsom received wearing a frock of cherrv-red crepe de chine with a •wide-brimmed hat of the same shade. Miss Mary Milsom, who assisted her mother, was in • brown crepe soie and a fcrown hat. Miss Josephine Tolhurst also assisted Mrs. Milsom.
