WELLINGTON £28,270 BEHIND. ELEVEN-MONTHS DEBIT. " Gross expenditure exceeded the estimate by £20,150, to which must be added £BI2O on account of the deficiency in receipts from patients' fees, etc.j making a total debit balance of £28,270 for tho eleven months," stated Mr. F. Castle, chairman of the Wellington Hospital Hoard, when furnishing a return for the period ended February 29, to the board. The heavy demand on the board's funds for tho relief of distress caused by unemployment is the primary cause of the excess of expenditure.
