MAIL FROM ENGLAND.
NONE COMING BY NIAGARA. PROBABLY ON MATSON STEAMER SIERRA DUE ON FRIDAY. No English mail is being brought by tho Royal Mail liner Niagara, which is duo at Auckland from Vancouver next Monday. The only mail on board for New Zealand comprises 183 bags of American letters and 139 hampers of parcels. Of that amount 57 bags and 52 hampers are for Auckland. It is one of the smallest quantities brought from Canada by a Vancouver liner. The Matson Line steamer Sierra is due at Auckland from Los Angeles on Friday and it is thought that she will bring a largo English and American mail for New Zealand, but no details had been received yesterday. Ihe Sierra left San Francisco on February 25 and Los Angeles on February 26, while the Niagara sailed from Vancouver on March 2. Tho fact that very little English mail is coming to New Zealand by other routes indicates that the Sierra is likely to have a large quantity. The last English mail to reach New Zealand camo by the Makura, which arrived at Wellington from San Francisco on March 7. It consisted of only about 1100 bags, of which 222 were for Auckland. Another small English mail will reach Auckland from London by the New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Ruahine next Saturday. She has 66 bags of letters and 300 bags of parcels for New Zealand.
The Marama, which will arrive at Auckland from Sydney this morning, has 375 bags of Eastern and Australian mail for Auckland, but a few bags of English mail may be included. The southern portion of the mail from Australia will reach Wellington from Sydney by the Ulimaroa this morning.
