OBITUARY.
MR. CORBETT HARRIS. The death occurred at Auckland on Saturday of Mr. Corbett Harris, aged 82 years, an old settler of the Waiuku district. Mr. Harris, who was born in Northamptonshirc, camo to New Zealand about 50 years ago and took up farming at Waitangi, where ho remained for 16 years. In 1898 he loft New Zealand with Mr. Walter Holmes, of Waiuku, to join in tho Klondyko gold rush. Both ho and Mr. Holmes had little luck on the goldfields, and returned to New Zealand aftor about five years. Mr. Harris then took up land at Waiuku, where he resided until 1926. Since then ho has lived in retirement at Auckland. Ho was not married.
MR. H. FIRMAN. [Bt TELEGRAPH. —I>RESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. 'Hie death has occurred of Mr. Henry Firman, aged 58, secretary of tho Christchurch Tomato and Stono Fruit Growers' Association. Mr. Firman was connected with the Christchurch Horticultural Trades Association and the Tomato and Soft Fruit Produce Council of New Zealand, and was well-known to growers and horticulturists throughout the Dominion.
