AWAY WITH DUST.
Linen blinds should be taken down and laid flat on a table or other hard surface. Scrub well with a hard nail brush and some powdered bath-brick. This will remove the dirt and make the blinds like new. This method is much less trouble than washing them with soap and water, and gives better results. To clean bottles and other glassware, put in several spoonfuls of salt; add vinegar to moisten. Fill up with water and let them stand for several hours. Then shake well and rinse in plenty of cold water. A rusty grate should be thoroughly blackleaded, and the blacklead left on for two or three days. Then clean with more blacklead to which has been added some turpentine. It will then polish beautifully, and all traces of rust will have disappeared.
