FRAGMENTS OF WISDOM.
AMBITION IS GOOD. MASTER OF LIFE. There is nothing yon can get out of life that can hurt you, unless you let it enslave you. Money—money is good, if you use it and not let it use you. Make it buy for you the things that give you happiness; don't, let it set you into surroundings in which you are not at home, don't let it set for you a standard of living which seems futilo to you in your quiet moments, don't let it force you to accumulate more and more of it, in order to get more and more things, or you will find yourself becoming a worshipper of tho gods of wood and stone that exact such cruel and tyrannical service. Ambition —ambition is good if it makes you strive to build something that will live after you; it may only be a monument of memory in the hearts of your friends, tho memory of a fragrant personality, a kindly heart. Love is good, too; only when love entangles you in tho desire for possession is it a danger; lovo that can shine freely liko tlio sun will give as much joy to the lover as tho beloved. Keep all tho things that life can give you in your hands; uso them, don't lot them use you. Then you will bo master of life as well as lover of life.
