The Garden - Lovers.

A KINDLY RESPONSE. I wonder if any of you can imagine how much pleasure 1 have had this week from tlio swift and kindly response to the suggestion regarding a " Garden-Lover's Corner " in mv own garden '! Already 1 have received eight parcels of bulbs, and it is only Thursday. .At first 1 decided on a lit 110 corner of a flow er bed. something about a yard square. But. when I opened all the delightful little boxes and parcels, and peeped into the carefully wrapped little packages and envelopes they contained, my ambition swiftly grew, and now I have decided to reserve a whole garden plot for my special corner. I don't know if 1 shall be able to fill it. of course, but 1 shall hopp to make it a very beautiful c.r.e with all the fine bulbs 1 have received.

The very first parcel 1 opened was from someone known to every reader of " Girls and Boys," our good friend Cam, a blind lady whose real name I do not know. Kvcry year she sends for the Comfort Shi]? beautiful garments she has knitted for the poor, c What a delightful time I shall have planting these nice bulbs, and thinking of those spring days-to-be when 1 shall gather the tirst little flower that blooms. It is going to give mc rare jov, I can see, tending this very special corner of my garden, so liberally sown with kind and loving thoughts! The parcels mentioned were from the following:— "Cam" (mauve and white ixias), Sliona and Mrs. Mackav, laniwha (a. beautiful parcel containing amaryllis and crocus bulbs in bloom, heuchera, babianas and freesias), Kola Millar, Whitford (tritonas), Mrs. Furniss, Ivaiherc (green ? ixias and grape hyacinths), Mrs. Bentley, Pakuranga (white crocus), Ada Woods, Clevedon (grape hyacinths, spiraxis, and hollyhock seeds), Olive Wilkening, To Ivawa (lily plants, daffodil, babianas, montbrjtias, pink pearl lupin; scabiosa, and several unnamed seeds —a delightful parcel), Mrs. Watkins, Devonport (a nice paicel of grape hyacinth plants). A parcel was also received bearing no name. My warmest thanks to all these kind friends. Garden-lovers may send in items for this column as often as they please, as this is the time for planting out and exchanging bulbs and seeds. I think it would be a good idea to have a- special contest, for garden-lovers only, so if you will look a little farther down, you will sec something that will interest you.
