MOTOR ROAD SERVICES.

NO. 2 LICENSING AREA. MORE APPLICATIONS GRANTED. The fust sitting of the Xo. 2 Transport Licensing authority, which was created under the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, to control road services from Mercer in the South to llelensville and Waiwera in the North, was continued in Auckland yesterday. Mr. J. A. C. Alluiii presided and with him were Mr. T. Hanna and Mr. E. C. Bloinficld. Of the nine applications which came before the authority the following seven were granted, subject to certain reservations:—Metdrum Motors (If. N. Meldrurn), Auckland to Waiwera; Ingham and Donahoc, Albany to Birkenhead Wharf; P. V. Flexrnan, Waiuku to Auckland; L. J. J. Reeves, Weymouth Beach to Mamirewa Station; A. Burr, Huapai io Auckland; F. (>. Parker, Waiuku to Auckland; Robinson's Motors, Auckland to llelensville. None whs rejected, I lie, remaining two having been deferred until Monday. They arc:—A. Doidge, Buachlands to Aucfc land; and Loughrin and Melvor, I'ukokolie to Auckland. A total of 13 applications will be dealt with on Monday.
