EXPLOSION IN FURNACE.
DEATH FOLLOWS BURNS. ADJOURNMENT OF INQUEST. An inquest was opened yesterday before the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., concerning the death of Mr. William Albert Dempsey, aged 44, of 101, Mount Smart Road, Royal Oak, who died in the Auckland Hospital on Wednesday evening from burns received as a result of an explosion in a furnace at a Newton factory. Evidence of identification was given, the inquiry being" adjourned sine dio. Mr. Dempsey was married, with one child.
