A GIRL'S MEDALS.

THEFT CHARGE FAILS. Claiming that two gold medals had been given to him as a keepsake, a charge of the theft of these articles was denied by a young man, whose name was suppressed, in the Onehunga Court yesterday. A young girl gave evidence that the medals were her property. She had not given them to the accused and had missed them some time later. The medals were valued at £1 each and had been won by witness in dancing competitions. Accused said he understood the medals were given to him as a keepsake. The magistrate, Mr. F. 11. Levien, said it appealed probable that on the spur of Iho moment the young woman had given the youth the medals. Ho would give accused tho benefit of the doubt.
