AGRICULTURAL SHOW.

LARGE ENTRIES RECEIVED. Large attendances aro expected at tho annual show of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association to bo held at the Epsom Show Grounds on Friday and Saturday. In tho principal entries of stock a general increase has been experienced, but there has bqen a slight drop in the entries for the home industries section. The outstanding increase in tho Jersey and Friesian classes, and in the pig and sheep entries, is mainly duo to the extra classes provided for competition in the respective sections. There is a remarkable increase in the kennel club section. Dogs from all over the province will take part in the sheep dog trials, which will be a feature of tho show.

In tho dairy stock section three great Friesian champions arc competing for tho championship award, while this section is remarkable for the largo entries of imported Jersey cattle. There will bo a fine display of lambs in the sheep section and the animals will be judged locally and subsequently forwarded to the Sinithfield markets for further awards. The final results will provide an indication of the potentialities of the Auckland Province as a fat-lamb producing area. An e.xceliv'it exhibit of bacon pigs will be a feature, carcases of which will be on display at the forthcoming Auckland Winter Exhibition. A fino entry of porker pigs from all parts of the province has been received, tho carcases of which will be sent to Sinithfield for further judging- This class has attracted Dominionwido interest, being tho first pork exhibit of tho province to bo sont to the English market. The usual attractions, without which the show would bo incomplete, will be presented. Thrilling steer-riding events for which bullocks have been secured from the Taumarunui district, will be staged, and a sheep-shearing competition, for which post entries will be received, is included in the programme. Military and naval units will carry out spectacular movements, while they will bo ably assisted by; the Ponsonby Boys' Brass .Band.
