BANANAS AGAIN VERY CHEAP.
Few fluctuations in the retail prices of household commodities have occurred in the past week. Farmers' butter is Id cheaper at lOd a lb. _ Nectarines have increased in price, yesterday's rate of 8d a lb. being 2d higher. Bananas, which were up to 5d a lb., are down to 2d and 3d again. There have been practically no other changes m prices of fruit. Good supplies of most lines of vegetables are available at late rates. Piock melons are being sold from 6d to Is each. Fair quantities of mushrooms ar 6 realising Is to Is 6d a lb. Values for meat and fish remain unchanged, although supplies of fish are rather scarce owing to unfavourable conditions in the gulf.
