ELECTION IN IRELAND.
HEAVY POLL RECORDED. NO DISTURBANCES OCCUR. FULL RESULTS ON SATURDAY. Bj' Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. DUBLIN, Feb. 16. There was a heavy poll at the general election in the Irish Free State to-day, 20 per cent, more people voting in Dublin than in 1927. However, it was the quietest, most sober and best humoured election day for 10 years. A few cases of tyre-slashing were reported and several motor-cars belonging to Lady Beauclerk, an active worker for the Government at Tipperary, wero disabled last night.
Troops were drafted to various centres but were not required. The city results will not be known until to-morrow afternoon and the rural results on Thursday. The final returns will be completed on Saturday.
