THE RAGWORT MENACE.
EXTENSION TO FRANKLIN. COUNTY COUNCIL CONCERNED. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PUKEKOHE. Wednesday. The spread *of ragwort was the subject of a discussion at to-day's meeting of the Franklin County Council. Mr. J. Dean drew attention ft) the fact that ragwort was noticeable in parts of the county, and urged that prompt steps be taken to eradicate it.
Another member said there was 20 times more ragwort in the county this year than last.
It was decided that the council's engineer and foremen report all cases of rapewort to flower, with a view to prompt action being taken by the noxious weeds inspector.
