CAR STRUCK BY TRAIN.
COLLISION AT CROSSING.
DRIVER ESCAPES UNHURT. [from our own correspondent.] HAMILTON, Friday. A narrow escape from serious injury was experienced by Mr. D. E. Finlayson, a Tuhikaramea farmer, at 10 o'clock this morning, when a large five-seater car he was driving was struck by the Ham-ilton-Cambridge train on the Grey Sfreet crossing at Claudelands. Mr. Finlavson, who was alone in the car at the time, was driving to the Claudelands ram fair. The engirfe of "the train struck the rear part of the car and carried the vehicle 20ft. before it was pulled up. Three wheels of the car were smashed and the body was badly damaged. Mr. Finlayson escaped unhurt. He recently had hi* right leg amputated.
