CARE IN CONVALESCENCE.
One of the most important things in the treatment of ulcer of the stomach is the fact that the condition is liable to recur. The patient must bear this in mind, because it is so easy, having got rid of the pain, to think you can eat whatever you fancv. The things that you have been forbidden have a greater appeal than ever. Be on the safe side. Never eat anything that you have found disagrees with yon. Avoid all food that has been cooked twice and don't touch pickles, vinegar or other condiments, strong tea or coffee. Smoking on an empty stomach is harmful. Like alcohol, it seems to cause a temporary acidity in the stomach, and this condition is favourable to ulcer formation. _
