MOTHERS' THOUGHT GUILD.
The first monthly meeting for tho year of the Mothers' Thought Guild was held on Tuesday afternoon at tho homo of Mrs. Ileinus, Sunhaven, Belvedere Street, Epsom. The report and balance-sheet indicated that the year had been a very successful one, 139 new members having joined the guild, while several new centres had been formed. Miss Darrow, principal of "Vasanta College, gave an interesting address entitled " Modern Ideas in Education. Are We Educating Our Children 1" A special meeting of the guild was held on Wednesday afternoon to allow the visiting members from other centres to meet Auckland members. Mrs. Hemus, at whose homo the meeting was held, read a paper on " Motherhood." Social intercourse and afternoon tea brought to a close a very enjoyablo gathering.
