Mr. J. A. Preshaw, for the past 20 years manager of the South British Insuranco Company, Ltd., in Western Australia, retired on December 31 and baj been appointed a director of the company. Mr. Preshaw joined the company's service at Invercargill in 1837 and served in Auckland, Napier and Queensland hefore going to Western Australia. He ha been succeeded by Mr. J. L. Lapsley.
