The first meeting of the National Ex-' pen rlit u if? (Economy) Commission was held to-day. Members generally discussed the order of reference and the procedure to be adopted. The commission is required to submit an interim report not later than March 1, and it will be manifestly impossible for it to hear in person all those desirous of giving evidence on the various phases of the problems under consideration. The commission will consider representations in writing from interested organisations and individuals.
