TAKAPUNA GARDEN FAIR.

A garden fair was held on Saturday afternoon in tile lovely grounds of the St. Joseph's Convent at Takapuna in aid of funds for tho convent. Bishop Liston, assisted by Father Kennedy and Father Mansfield, opened the fair, and spoke of the ■worthy causo for ivhich it was organised. Tho stalls were set up on the iawn, and a wonderful Christmas tree, glistening with silver and laden with all kinds of toys and packages, was an endless delight to tho many children present. Following were the stallholders: —I 1 ancy goods, Mrs. Swann; novelties, _ Madame Irene Ainsley; cakes, tho Children of Mary, under Miss Dixon; Christmas tree, Mrs. T. S. llickie and Mrs. Hntchingsj games and competitions, Mr. Scholium, Mr. T. Hollbrook, Mr. L. Little, Mr. Dercck and Mr. Dohcrtv. Assisting were Mr. P. O'Mally, Mr. L. McGes and Mr. P. O'Leary.
