TO-DAY'S PROGRAMME.
VERY GOOD ACCEPTANCES.
ST. ANDREW'S HANDICAP.
FOURTEEN HORSES ENGAGED. PROSPECTS OF BAROSCOPE. Tho Takapuna Jockey Club's Spring Meeting will be concluded to-day, when the, chief event will be the St.. Andrew's Handicap, run over a mile and a furlong. "With (lie exception of the II aln no Handicap, which has drawn only seven acceptors, the various ovents have filled well, and the prospects for another interesting day's racing aro bright. Following arp the details of the fields, with a review of the prospects in each race by "Archer":— 12.0.—VAUXHALL HANDICAP. Of £110; 6 fur. et. lb. st, lb. Lucidus .... 8 0 Kind Words . 7 7 lvnight of Marmorato ..77 Australia -.84 Tatyoon .... 7 7 Amber Link . S 0 Magic Mint . 7 7 Reka Raurau . 7 13 Hawthorn ... 7 7 Silene 7 12 Daycoma ... 7 7 O. Sceptre ..79 Golden Spahi 7 7 Royal Gallant 7 0 Tilanette ... 7 7 Bugle Call ..78 Alacrity ... 7 7 L. Derision ..78 Click Clack . 7 7 Star Lan . . . 7 8 Limex 7 7 Night Warrior 7 7 The form horses are Lucidus, Amber Link and Knight cif Australia, who were the place-getters in the same class on Saturday. They should again race prominently and may account for the others, although Bugle Call. Tatyoon, Star Lap and Royal Gallant are likaly improvers who may provide them with solid opposition. Limex, from A. Tinker's stable, shaped well at Te Rapa, and may be dangerous, while the best of the others may be Silene and Hawthorn. Investors may follow form and support LUCIDUS. KNIGHT OP AUSTRALIA. AMBER LINK. 12.45.—KAWAU HIGH-WEIGHT HANDICAP. Of £125; 1 mile 3 fur. and 40yds. st. lb. st. lb. Neil ..... 9 9 Tarporley ... 9 0 Ruby Dawn ~.96 Stonehenge ..90 Patutahi ... 9 4 Cat-i-mes ... 9 0 Wiltshire ... 9 2 Bizarro .... 9 0 Dominican ..90 Royal Action 9 0 In the absence of Heremia and Principal, who filled the dividend-places in this class on Saturday, Neil appears to have bright prospects. Neil has previously run a good race over the distance, and what beats him should win. Tarporley was running on at the end on the first day and may be better here, while the likeliest of the others may be Patutahi, Wiltshire, Dominican and Ruby Dawn. The favourites may include NEIL. TARPORLEY. PATUTAHI. I.3O.—STANLEY HACK HANDICAP. Of £110; 7 fur. et. lb. et. lb. Ganpat .... 9 0 Good Idea ~78 Whakapara ..88 Paper Dart ..77 Princess Bede 8 4 Lady Musk ..75 Carl Idem ..80 Moonfleet ... 7 1 Instalment . 7 13 Reka Raurau . 7 0 Camp Princess 710 Regarded ... 7 0 Ganpat is a good hack, but he is making allowances ranging from 12lb. to 341b. to the others, and is bound to meet with strong opposition from improvers like Whakapara, Instalment and Princess Bede. Whakapara hns won at hie last three starts and should again be capable of _ a bold bid for victory. Instalment, too, is likely to be difficult to beat and, if he has the luck to draw a good position, he will keep the others fully extended trying to catch liim. Paper Dart and Moonfleet are possibilities. but the class is stronger than when they filled places on the first day. Horses who may be well supported include INSTALMENT. WHAKAPARA. PRINCESS BEDE. 2.IS.—CAUTLEY HANDICAP. Of £175; 6 fur. st. lb. st. lb. . Paganelli ... 9 0 White Wing 3 . 7 4 Royal Ruler . 8 6 •Hampton Park 7 4 Biddy's Boy . 8 2 King Ford . » 7 1 Tea Chat..Bl Gold. Wedding 7 0 High Comedy . 7 13
The threo-year-olds Tea Chat and High Comedy are as likely to improve aa any of the first day's runners in this class, and can be relied upon to run good races. Biddy's Boy, too, should be dangerous, and Paganelli will not be out of it if 110 saddles up well after his race on Saturday, when he displayed a good deal of dush. Royal Ruler and King Ford may bo best of the others, but favouritism is likely to rest between TEA CHAT. BIDDY'S BOY. HIGH COMEDY.
3,0. —ST. ANDREW'S HANDICAP. Of £300; 1 mile 1 fur. st. lb. st. lb. Prince Yal . . 8 13 Koyal Artist ,75 Volimond ... 8 11 Karangapai . . 7 Roval Doulton 8 11 Brampton ... 7 2 Vali 8 3 Helium . ... 7 0 True Blood . . 7 11 Te Money ... 7 0 Sir Mond ... 7 8 Mosque .... 7 0 Baroscope ... 7 5 Ivawamga ... 7 0 Volimond won well on Saturday and, although slio has a rise of 10lb., should again perform solidly. Prince Val. is also likely to make his presence felt again, while Baroscope and Vali are others who read nicely placed. Royal Doulton should do better than on the first day, and another with a chance is Sir Mond. who will run a solid nine furlongs with 7.8 if caught in tho right mood. Of the others the best prospects should be Karangapai and Royal Artist, although, like Vali, they arc also engaged in the Ngataringn, Handicap. Jn a good betting ruce the favourites may bo BAROSCOPE. VALI. Sin MOND. 3.45.—RAK1N0 HANDICAP, Of £150; two-year-olds; 5 fur. st. lb. fit. lb. Tea Trader ..94 Holly Lu ... 8 0 Prolyxo .... 8 7 Impudent ... 8 0 Miss Linley . 8 2 Whirlalong ..76 Foreign Money 8 2 Prolyxo scored decisively 011 the first, day and, as she is likely to be a better lilly for the run, a rise of 12lb. should not stop her from again racing prominently. Tea Trader should again beat most of tho others, the likeliest of whom may be tho newcomers Foreign Money and Impudent. It is probable that investors will follow form and give .most support to PROLYXO. TEA TRADER. FOREIGN MONEY. 4.3O.—PUPUKE HACK HANDICAP. Or £125; 1 mile 1 fur. st. lb. st. lb. Wild Counfry 9 2 Valmario ... 711 To Money . . 8 12 Lady Van© ..76 Limcen .... 8 5 Speedfast ... 7 0 Heremia ... 8 3 Illuminaph ..70 Neil 8 0 Excella Tea ..70 United . ... 7 13 Glenrata ... 7 0 Heremia scored in good stylo over the same distance 011 Saturday, and will only require to run up to form to be prominent again. Wild Country, Limeen and Te Money should be capable of sood efforts, and others who should mnko showings are United, Lady Vane. Speedfast and Valmarie. United lias yet to eliow liis worth over a bit of distance, but he will be very troublesome if he can run the nine furlongs right out. The prime fancies may be HEREMIA.' UNITED. LADY VANE.
S.IS.—NGATARINGA HANDICAP. Of £170; 7 fur. fit. lb. fit. lb. If started, Paganelli should have' a good chance, and others worthy of respect include Chief Joy, Vali, Karangapai, Royal Artist, Taurua, Vandyke and White Wings. It is a difficult, race, but horses who may command support aro CHIEF JOY. KARANGAPAI. TAURUA.
