ST. MARY'S COLLEGE.
The centenary of the Sisters of Mercy is to. be celebrated in Auckland early next month and iu order to raise funds for this event a bazaar was held in the assembly hall of St. Mary's College, Ponsonby. Tho stalls wero to have been set up in the gardens, but owing to the bad weather experienced on Saturday they wero arranged along the walls and on the stage ot tho large hall. The college huilding was thrown open to visitors and the classrooms for the pupils and the architecture of the building were much admired. Afternoon tea was served in the boarders' dining room, which was decorated with bowls of sweet peas and roses. Tho function was continued in the evening, when a dance was held. It. will also be continued to-day and this evening. The stallholders, who were assisted by the pupils of the college, were as follows :—Produce, Mrs. M. Flynn, Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Lovett; fancy goods, Mrs. Emmetfc Kelly, Mrs. C. Grevatt, Mrs. C. Hi' Drysdale, Mrs. N. Robinson, Mrs. E. Robinson, Miss Mavis Grevatt, Miss Lulu Drysdale, Miss Marie Drysdale, Miss June Grevatt,. Miss Audrey Kelly, Miss R. Grevatt; fish pond, Mrs. Hutton and Miss E. Smith; sweets, Mrs. Mulvihill, Mrs. Scott, Mrs. Christian, Miss Marshall, Mrs. Jonkin, Miss Lipscombe, Miss Stannaway > cakes, Miss M. Flyn and Miss N. Flynn; afternoon tea, Mrs. Brooke, Mrs. Beattie, Mrs. Walmsley, Mrs. Stichbury, Mrs. Leyden, Miss Bryant, Miss Ada Somerville, Miss Olga Sommerville, Miss Molly Hutchings.
