AN INDOOR FAIR.
FUNDS FOR Y.W.C.A. After the beautiful summer weather which was experienced during the week, it was unfortunate that Saturday, on which day a garden party %vas to have been held at the home of Mrs. G. H. Wilson, Upland Road, Remuera, in aid of the Y.W.C.A. funds, should have been a, day of heavy rain. As an outdoor function was, therefore, impossible, tho stalls were moved into the house, and, in spile of the weather, a largo number of guests were present, a brisk business ensuing. Tho Mayoress, Mrs. G. W. Hutchison, who was introduced by Mrs. A. D. Campbell, president of the Y.W.C.A., formally declared the fair open. Those in charge of tho stalls were:— Sweets, Mrs. H. D. Webster and the House Committee; work stall, Sirs. F. M. Hay and tho World Fellowship Committee; flowers, Miss Goodfellow and Miss Gardner; produce, Mrs. Mann and the Mothers' Club; side shows, Mrs.. Rawley and the Women's Progress Club; afternoon tea, Mrs. T. Clark with the membership and hostel committees. Musical selections were supplied by the Epiphany Orchestra and added considerably to the pleasure of the afternoon.
