TUTANKHAMEN'S TOMB.
POPULAR SUNDAY LECTURE. " Tutankhamen " was the subject of a» instructive address delivered by the wellknown lecturer, Mr. E. Headlam Greenhow, before a large and appreciative audience in the Plaza Theatre last evening. 1 Mr. Greenhow, who has made a study of ancient Egypt, recounted the story the finding of Tutankhamen's tomb in 1922 by Mr. Howaivl Carter and the late Lord Carnarvon. The lecture was illustrated by 100 unique photographic slides, many of which were realistically coloured. Pictures were shown of the historic Valley of the Kings, the sarcophagus containing the mummy of the famous monarch, Tutankhamen, and- many other priceless relict! of a past civilisation, which had been hidden from human view for more than 3000 yeai-s. Other slides included photographs of the temples of Thebes and Luxor, the ancient centres of culture and learning; the wdrldrenowned pyramids and sphinx; and the picturesque and inspiring mosques of Cairo. Next Sunday Mr. Greenhow will speak on " England." This address will also be illustrated by a variety of selected slides.
