THE TROTTING TRACK.
GOOD WORK AT EPSOM. COLD TREASURE IN FORM. JOCK BINGEN SPRINTS WELL. Light showers at Epsom on Saturday morning kept the clust down and rendered conditions for training much more pleasant. Tlio track was in fair order ar.d many useful tasks were performed. With few exceptions the horses worked the reverse way round, in view of "the Waikato Trotting Club's meeting on December 5. Cold Treasure (A. J. Julian) worked steadily over several circuits and sprinted it couple of halves, the last one in 1.8. L. Laver then drove Gold Treasure over a mile, and putting plenty of dash into the effort ho recorded 2.12, running the first half in 1.4 J. -By his Bolid display Gold Treasure demonstrated that he is fast returning to his best form again. Explosion (\V. Clifton) went away steadily from the two miles post and on reaching tho half-mile he was joined by Holly Boy (P. Morrison). They were at the mil© in 2.28, where Jock Bingen (F. J. Smith) joined issue, and Holly Boy piloted the two trotters past the mile and a-half in 3.36. Over the concluding stages Explosion and Jock Bingen drew out to make a good', finish, the former being in front to record <1.435 for the two miles. Jock Bingen was responsible for a sound mile in 2.16 and is sprinting with any amount of dash". For a trotter Jock Bingen commences smartly and as he has become very solid lately his prospects of winning a sprint race in the near future are rosy.
Auto Machine (A. Brown} was not extended at any part of a mile and a-half run in 3.36. Sprinting over the last three furlongs he registered 51s, a 2.16 rate o£ speed. Auto Machine is in good lieafct for his cup preparation. Tumatakuru's Good Effort. Priuco Etauah (Iv. A. Shepherd) went away two seconds ahead of Tumatakuru (C. Smith) and Great Ballin (F. J. Smith) in a mile and a-half essay. Prince Etawah led past th& mile in 2,21, but a, furlong from home Tumatakuru was in front, and finishing strongly stalled off a late run by Great Ballin, to register 3.30. Tumatakuru rail the last half in 1.6 and was staying on well at the end. Dad's Hope (W. Glifton) commenced a mile and a-half journey very keenly, running the first quarter in 345, but he soon steadied, down and passed the mile post in. 2.22. Increasing the paco over the final section he registerod I.S and finished full of running. Modem Light (G. Phipps) worked frceleyged and, paced in solid style. She was not on a time-making mission, but stepped over the last half-mile in 1.12. Goza (L. Mahoney) conceded Glandore (A. McGarry) 12yds in a mile and u-quarter try-out, tho pair going away from a barrier start. Glandore bobbled slightly and Gaza was soon alongside the roan and setting a sound pace passed the six furlongs post in 1.45. At the. quarter-mile peg Glandore ran to the lead and although Gaza made a determined effort at tho finish he failed to catch Glandore, who won. by a length in 2.53. The last half was run in 1.8. Worthy Cause (Julian) and IJolf© Audubon (Laver) pared resolutely over a mile and a-half in 3.35. Worthy Cause made play for a mile and a-quarter, reached in 3.1 3-5, and then Rolfe Audubon moved up fast to run his last quarter-mile in 335. Carl- Mack (F. J. Smith) trotted twice over a mile aud a-half. giving a solid display on each occasion. He was not fully extended at any stage, but appeared anxious to increase the pace. Mountain Dell (L. Mitchell) traversed a mile and a-half comfortably iti 3.30. the last half in I.S. She was anxious to go faster and could have run a merry half if required. , • Benefice (K. Morrison) was in her ele ment "while running over two miles in 4.50. the final half in 1.8. . , „ Dau Direct (A. -T. Newdick), with Satinbird (A. Patten) as a galloping pacemaker. worked over several circuits and then stepped over two miles. There was not much pace on, the last half in 1.15 being the fastest section. Etta C.ole (Julian) trotted very steadily over two, miles, and while not bustled over the final mile, registered 2.22, the last half in 1.9 3-5. ; „ - Moko Girl (W. Dye) and Carina (C Smith) were associated over a mile ana a-half, the trotter going away two seconds in advance. Trotting in fine style,Moko Girl led past the mile in 2.30 and finished alongside Carnui in 3.41. Carom ran his last mile in 2.21. doing it very comfortThorpe (W. Willetts) paced boldly over two miles, running the last mile in 2 -14 He went well within., himself antl sprinted over the last three furlongs m 51s. 'Oliver Thorpe has improved in stamina '"our ;iessie (A. Chapman) and Kewpie's Triumph (K. Bell) worked separately over several circuits, and then ran a mile in company in 2.32. the last section showing 1.12. Kewpie's Triumph, who lightened up after the last Auckland meeting, is not being hurried in his work. Gold Jacket Goes Freely.
