Like tho majority of rubber-producing companies, the New Zealand Malay Rubber Company, with headquarters at Oamaru, which paid generous dividends a few years ago, has had to announce a loss ,on last year's operations. Tho deficit amounted to £1741. The directors, in their 21st annual report for the period ending Juno 30, state that owing to the record slump in the price of rubber, tapping was greatly reduced, only 121,7621b. of all grades being harvested.
