FIRE PREVENTION WEEK.
OBSERVANCE IN AUCKLAND. Fire prevention week will commence in Auckland to-day with the holding of a procession of fire engines from the foot of Queen Street along Karangahape Road to (ho central station in Pitt Street, at 32.30 p.m. At 8 o'clock this evening an,action display will he given by the brigndesmeii in Pitt Street. An address on fire prevention will be given by Superintendent, W. L. Wilson, of tho central station, before the Auckland Rotary Club at its weekly luncheon to-day. Processions and displays will bo held throughout the week by the brigade, and the Auckland City Council is co-operating with tho Auckland Fire Board by making a special collection of refuse, other than ordinary garbage.
