SALES OF PROPERTY.
MORE ACTIVITY REPORTED.
DWELLINGS AND FARMS. BETTER TONE IN MARKET, Sales made during the past month and a revival of inquiry for city property and farms are regarded by Auckland land agents as signs of a revival of interest in the real estate market. Several properties in liemuera have changed hands recently at prices ranging from £2OOO to £4500, and sales are also reported to have taken place in Epsom, Mount Eden and Heme Bay. An agent said yesterday that there was a fairly steady demand for farms and farmlets, as long as they -were reasonably priced. The one-man type of farm is in greatest demand. Another agent expressed the view that the time was not far distant when more building would be undertaken in Auckland. He based his belief on the considerable shrinkage in activity during the past two years and on the increase in population in the same period. " Newlvmarried couples have been sharing houses or have taken rooms pending the return of better times," lie said. " I am confident that now the outlook is much better there will bo created a desire for homes of their own, either to buy or to rent. The supply of houses now is not sufficient to meet the needs if the majority of the couples give their homemaking wishes practical shape."
