WORKERS' RAILWAY FARES.
Sir,— Referring to .your reference to-t-he above in Thursday s Herald may I ask why the Railway Department does not carry out the recommendation of the Railway Board. It would appear that the recommendation regarding the extension of the workers' weekly tickets to 9 o'clock has been squashed by the general manager, who has now entered into an economic discussion with the Papatoetoe Town Board on the subject. The sooner the Railway Department tries to please its regular customers, instead of making unheard of reductions (at the expense of the majority of worker patron si to catch a few bus customers, the better it will bo for the service. Papatoetoe Worker.
