REDUCTION ASKED FOR. POWER BOARD'S REQUEST. [from our own correspondent.] TAURANGA, Thursday. The Tauranga Electric-Power Board submitted to the Tauranga Borough Council at its last meeting a request for a reduction of interest to 5 per cent, on £IO,OOO worth of debentures. The council decided to reply that it would be prepared to meet the Power Board if the Government could be induced to make a general reduction in interest rates.
