GRAND HOTEL MANAGER.
MR. J. R. FOSTER APPOINTED. Mr. S. R. Foster, who for the past 25 years has been manager of Foster's Hotel. Wanganui, has been appointed manager o! the Grand Hotel, Auckland, and will take over his new duties at the beginning of November. =- S Mr. Foster has been actively associated with the Wanganui Jockey Club for tha past 30 years and has been one of its stewards for 12 years. He has had an even longef connection with the- Union Boat Club, which he joined as a coxswain in 1837. He was president of the club for a number of years and was recently elected a life member in recognition of his services. Mr. Foster is a keen bowler.
