TOUR OF WALLABIES.

IMPRESSIONS OF VISITOR. DOMINION FORWARDS PRAISED. (Received September 29, 10.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 29. The assistant-manager of the Rugby team which toured New Zealand, Mr. G. B. Palmer, in discussing football in New Zealand after the arrival of the Maunganui to-day, paid a tribute to tho warmhearted and genuine hospitality of the New Zealand people at all tho receptions tendered to the Wallabies, who were made to feel quite at home everywhere. The team experienced much rainy weather and some matches were played on muddy grounds. The New Zealanders had evolved a game in which they relied principally upon their forwards, but when the New Zealanders came over to Australia to hard grounds things would be quite different, as the Australians would be able to open up the game. Mr. Palmer paid a tribute to the New Zealand forwards, but he said tho inside backs were not so clever or resourceful. Mr. Palmer said ho frankly was opposed to a return to the old rules of kicking into touch on tho full, which had the effect of slowing the game, but it suited the New Zealand forwards admirably. The Australians, however, preferred the open game.
