CRICKET.
MORRINSVILLE ASSOCIATION. [from our own correspondent.] MORRINSVILLE. Tuesday. Tho annual meeting of the Morrinsvillo Cricket Association was held last evening, the president, Rev. J. H. Starnes. presiding over a good attendance. The annual report stated that more interest had been taken in cricket during the past season than ever before in Morrinsville. The old cricket club had been transformed into the Morrinsvillo Cricket Association, and instead of being able to field only two teams, there wero now four, and a, dozen good matches had been played at tho Morrinsville Recreation Grounds. The old , players . had renewed their enthusiasm in the game and many new players had joined. The association had won the South Auckland Shield. The baL ance-sheet showed a credit balance. As the preliminary expenses had been fairly heavy, tho position was most satisfactory. The election of officers resulted:—Patron, Mr. George Howie; president. Rev. J. H. Starnes; vice-presidents, Messrs. Dendy, Harden. Pole and Philpott; secretary, Mr. C. Mclntyre; treasurer. Mr. W- MoPherson; auditor. Mr. Jones: committee, Messrs. Jones, McPherson, Mc-Intvre and Starnes; solo selector, Mr. Jones; management committee, president and secretary and two representatives from each club. Two deleyatcs. Messrs. Mclntyre and_ Somers, wei'e appointed to interview the WaitoaClub regarding its joining the Morrinsville Association, . . It, was decided that subscriptions be tho same as last, yaar.
