EARTHQUAKE RELIEF.
THE MAYOR'S FUND. PARTICULARS OF ALLOCATIONS. In view of the fact that some further legislation is expected to deal with the disbursement of the Ilawke's Bay earthquake relief fund, the Mayor of Auckland, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, gave some particulars yesterday showing what was done with the fund inaugurated for the purpose by his predecessor, Mr. G. Baildon. The whole of the money received, Mr. Hutchison stated, had been remitted to the central committee in Wellington, with tho exception of certain payments made in Auckland. The particulars were:— Remitted to central committee, £24.740; local relief payments, £1885; paid to Community Sunshine League, £246; paid (0 Central Mission, £ls; sundry expenses, £2; total of donations received, £26,888. DEPENDANTS OF VICTIMS. APPLICATION FOR HELP. The Central Committee of the Hawke's Bay Earthquake Relief Fund, which is making provision in cases of necessity for those permanently injured and for tho dependants of thoso killed or injured in the earthquake, has fixed October 12 as the final date 011 which applications for assistance will be considered. Persons who come within the class referred to who have not already applied for assistance are requested by tho committee to send in their claims to tho relief committees in the towns where they were residing at the time of the earthquake.
