TO-DAY'S PUBLICATION. SUPERB PICTORIAL SECTION. STRIKING ILLUSTRATIONS. The high standard of always associated with the Auckland Weekly News is maintained in the current issue of the journal, on sale to-day. All the important happenings of the week, as well as a remarkably fine selection of scenic and travel photographs, are admirably recorded in the illustrated section. In an issue notable for its special features, the frontispiece is outstanding. It shows an exceptionally clear v ; e\v of Auckland city secured from an aeroplane in flight over the harbour. All the prominent points of interest can he picked out with ease and altogether the picture gives a striking idea of the size of New Zealand's largest city. "When spring awakens iri all its glory" is the title of the splendid centre doublepage. Combining beautiful New Zealand scenes secured in town and country, the series is particularly attractive. Of more than usual interest are photographs of tho present Coalition Cabinet and of the National Ministry which was formed in the Dominion during the Great War. ,

Progress on the west coast of the South Island is demonstrated by a full-page depicting work on the hydro-electric scheme which is to provide power for the township of Ilpkitika and the I'.imu gold dredge. There are two excellent full-pages showing scenic gems of the North and South Island. On one full-page is reproduced a series of pictures illustrating some of the beauties of the South Westland province, while the other page shows a striking new view of Taranaki's snow-capped sentinel, Mount Egmont. In the wealth of miscellaneous subjects forming the usual budget of topical photographs the following arc outstanding:— The latest photograph of the Duchess of York and her two daughters; Air-Com-modore Kingsford Smith's latest venture; the complement of 11.M.5. Diomede, flagship of the New Zealand Squadron; Wellington topics; British peer's death at. Auckland; golf at Nelson; new interisland ferry steamer Rangatira; summer storms in England: reconstruction at Napier's port; feminine topics.
