RUAPEHU CLIMBERS.

TRIBUTE TO PARTY'S LEADER. PRESENTATION TO MR. G. B. BELL. Members of the party of climbers who were recently lost on Mount Ruapehu assembled at the Auckland University College yesterday to pay tribute to their leader in the tragic venture, Mr. Graham B. Bell. Mr. Bell is lecturer in engineering at the college. On behalf of the party, Mr. S. C. MacDiarmid presented Mr. Bell with a desk writing set. He assured Mr. Eell that he was held in the highest esteem by all members of the party, who were grateful for the part he had played in leading them down the mountain. It was largely due to Mr. Bell's leadership and experience that so many were saved.
