CLAY BIRD SHOOTING.
METROPOLITAN GUN CLUB. The Metropolitan Gun Club held its .usual fortnightly shoot on Saturday. Owing .to counter-attractions and adverse weather conditions the attendance was not a3 good a« usual. Results were:— First Match, of seven birds, sweepstake.— L. Feter3cn (17yds) shot the possible and look the pool. C. A. Whitney (16yds). C. E. Hodge (22yds), A. Hanigan (I4ydsi. D. Hyauiason 'lsyds) and F. Hazard {l3yds), scored six each. Second Match, of 15 birds, trophy arid sweepstake.—L. Peterson (17yds), A. E. Macredie (17yds) and J. Gribble (12yds), tied with 14 each. They divided the sweepstake and shot off for the trophy at fire birds each. Peterson and Gribble again tied and Macredie dropped out. Continuing on the first miss-out principle, Petersen missed the 30th bird, Gribble getting his bird and winning the trophy. . Third Match, of seven birds, gimcrack.— P. J. Hazard (11 to 37yds). shot the possible. L. Peterson (15 to 20yds). G. F. Keene (13 to ISycsi. D. Hyauiason (12 to 17yds) and C. E. Hodge (16 to 21yd's), scored six each. Tiie nest shoot will be held on October 10, when Mr. C. A. Whitney's -trophy will be competed for.
