DEVONPORT SHIELD FINAL. / SOMERVILLE'S EASY WIN. UNIVERSITY TEAM DEFEATED. Somerville and University, which had secured equal points, met in the final of the Auckland Hockey Association's Devonport Shield competition at the Western Springs Stadium on Saturday, and in an; uninspiring game, played on treacherous. turf, Somerville won by 6 goals to 1, and thus again secured the trophy. University worked hard, and had a ji#ater proportion' of terricoriai honours than the score indicates, but failed badly with circle tactics. University made its way down the field, from the bully and Radcliffe gave Bestic a chance. He shot, but the goalie saved and no one was in position to follow up.
