INJURED PROSPECTOR. ' NOTE SENT BY TERRIER. How a dog assisted in t lie rescue of a prospector lying injured in an isolated epot near Uralla, New South Wales, was told by Mr. Charles Garrett, who is now in hospital. Mr. Garrett sent his pick into a 15ft. bank, and several tons of earth crashed about him. Fortunately, the bulk of earth missed him; but he was thrown down, find his leg snapped. He knew that he could not crawl any distance. So lie [Wrote a note and tied it to the collar of his terrier. After pelting clods of earth at the dog, and scolding her, she ran off; but finding no one at his camp, returned. Again, Sir. Garrett sent the dog away, and four hours later she returned with ibis son' and some friends. Mr. Garrett stated that had it not been for the dog lie would have had to spend a night in the bush.
