THE HAURAKI SEAT.

Sir, —The by-election in Hauraki was held on May 27, a very recent date. Mr. Massey was then returned by a large majority. He has undoubtedly faithfully served his constituents in that electorate irrespective of party, and it is- generally recognised that his return would be assured at the general election. Tn view of these facts might we nob be saved the necessity and the expense of an election in this electorate ? It is, in my opinion, an instance where practical economy could be put into operation, and we look to tho representatives of other parties to give us their ideas and intentions in this matter. Hauraki Elector.
