THEFTS FROM BACHES.
MURIWAI BEACH OFFENCES. A large quantity of goods stolen from cottages at Muriwai Beach at tho beginning of last week has been recovered by the Helensvillo police in a camp which was occupied by two men for almost three weeks. Tho stolen articles comprised blankets, rugs, mattresses, tents, clothing and tinned foods. Both men have left the camp. The police have not made any arrests. Two more baches at tho beach were found to havo been broken into during tho last few days and articles stolen. Tent flies, valued at £7, were stolen from a bach belonging to Mr. F. Tucker, of Auckland, and miscellaneous goods were taken from that of Mrs. R. J. Wilson, of Belmont., Takapuna. Late last week it was found that seven other baches had been broken into, and in some cases foodstuffs were stolen. It is considered possible that further robberies have been committed in other baches, but this has not been definitely established on account of the absence of the owner«.
